Normal Working Hours:
Generally 5:30 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. or 7 A.M. to 3:30 P.M., depending upon daily work schedule. Some weekend and holiday work may be required.
Position Summary: Under supervision of the District Mechanic, the Assistant Mechanic is a non-exempt position under FLSA, responsible for assisting with the planning, administering, overseeing, performing, and evaluating the implementation of a comprehensive fleet maintenance program for Estes Valley Recreation and Park District (EVRPD). This position requires the ability to assist in the troubleshooting and repair several types of equipment including gas, diesel, 2 cycle engines and hydraulic systems. The knowledge to perform proper preventative maintenance and record keeping is essential. He or she must have previous knowledge in the use of a variety of equipment repair tools and proper procedures for tool maintenance. Prior professional auto-mechanical work experience is a plus. Golf equipment maintenance experience is helpful. Must have the ability to be trained in specialized tasks such as reel grinding/lapping/setup/adjusting, welding, proper mower set up, golf cart repair, and other specialized work on turf equipment.
The Assistant Mechanic may be asked to perform other duties regarding golf course, parks or trail maintenance and must be available on weekends and holidays.
Pay range is $11:00-$13:00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Limited recreation program benefits are included.
