Estes Park Campgrounds
The Estes Valley Recreation and Park District is excited to take on the management role of the Estes Park Campground at Mary's Lake and the Estes Park Campground at East Portal from the Larimer County Department of Natural Resources at the conclusion of the 2014 season. We are looking forward to improving infrastructure, amenities, services, and your overall camping experience. If you are a returning guest to the campgrounds, we are looking forward to serving you again in the upcoming season. Please take a moment and read through the reservation guidelines, campground policies, and frequently asked questions as some things may have changed.
We will continue to use Reserve America as our booking agency. The reservation system and Call Center are NOW OPEN for the 2015 season. Reservations can be made online at www.reserveamerica.com or by calling (800) 964-7806.
The Estes Park Campground at Mary's Lake
Nestled in a beautiful valley at 8,050 feet and surrounded by the gorgeous Rocky Mountains, this campground is a stone's throw away from Mary's Lake. All types of campers, from big rig RVers to the adventurous tent-dwellers, escape from the city life here. This campground is the perfect destination for camping enthusiasts of all ages ...whether your ideal day is spent across the street fishing in the lake or onsite splashing in the heated pool, this campground is a long-time favorite of many who return year after year. The close proximity to the town of Estes Park for shopping or dining, makes the location one of the best in the Estes Valley. Amenities are plentiful with full hookups with 50 amp service, hot showers, laundry facilities, free Wi-Fi, and a fully stocked camp store. It's easy to pass the time here with your friends and family while you enjoy all that Estes Park has to offer. This campground is open from May 15th to October 15th.

For fishing enthusiasts, spending the day across the road on the shore of Mary's Lake is like spending a day in paradise. Those interested in exploring Rocky Mountain National Park are only a few miles away from the Park entrance station. Trails in Rocky Mountain National Park are suitable for easy strolls as well as fully-committed backcountry treks into the high country. Our enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff is happy to help you plan your day trips. There are numerous outfitters and guiding companies in Estes Park that would love to take you horseback riding, jeeping, fly fishing, rock climbing, sightseeing, or biking.
The Estes Park Campground at Mary's Lake has 120 sites suitable for everyone from tenters to RVers with big rigs. All sites are equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings, some with ADA accessibility. Guests also have access to drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers, water electric hookups, full hookup sites, a dump station, firewood and ice sales, a heated swimming pool, a fully stocked campstore, laundry facilities, and a playground for the kids. A free local shuttle stops multiple times daily throughout the summer season and provides easy access to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.
The nearby town of Estes Park is a popular destination for visitors to the area. From hiking, biking, horseback riding, boating, golfing, and world-class fly fishing, to family-friendly activities like go carts and mini golf, there are a multitude of outdoor opportunities in this popular mountain town. From downtown Estes Park, take U.S. Highway 36 west approximate 1.5 miles to the stoplight intersection at the corner of Mary's Lake Road. Turn left on Mary's Lake Road. Travel approximately 1.5 miles to the campground which is at the corner of Peakview Drive and Mary's Lake Road. The address is 2120 Mary's Lake Road, Estes Park, CO 80517.

The Estes Park Campground at East Portal
So close, yet feels so far away from the hustle and bustle of Estes Park. This very popular campground is located at an elevation of 8,300 feet at the end of a beautiful road just west of town. There are wonderful views of the snow covered peaks in Rocky Mountain National Park and access to the East Portal Reservoir which has ample opportunities for fishing. This double loop campground offers shady sites suitable for tenters and campers with small RVs and trailers shorter than 24 feet in length. It is especially well-suited for families and outdoor enthusiasts looking to explore nearby nature and trails in Rocky Mountain National Park. Sites at this campground open up to views of Rocky Mountain National Park and starry nighttime skies. A mature blend of ponderosa and lodgepole pines interspersed with groves of aspens makes it a wonderful home away from home. It is an ideal setting for guests seeking recreation and relaxation. The camping season runs from May 15th - October 15th.

The campground is heavily shaded and is located on a sloping hillside framed by granite outcroppings on the ridgeline above. Inner roads are primitive and narrow which makes navigating large rigs challenging. Sites are relatively small and are better suited for tenters and small trailers. Wildlife in the area abounds. Elk and deer frequent the campground on a regular basis. Black bears are also present which makes responsible food storage a high priority. Fox, coyote, raptors, and a wide variety of small mammals and birds are common sightings.
For hikers, taking a walk on a trail located just west of the reservoir, provides access to many other trails within Rocky Mountain National Park including the extremely popular Glacier Basin and Sprague Lake areas. The nearby Wind River trail is a peaceful and uncrowded route which will take you to an area of the National Park that most visitors don't get to see. There's a multi-use singletrack connecting the campground to the YMCA that's great for mountain biking as well. Don't forget to bring your fishing gear to try your luck at the East Portal Reservoir just a few steps away from the campground.

All sites are equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings, some with ADA accessibility. Guests also have access to drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers, water & electric hookups, a few full hookup sites, a dump station, firewood and ice sales, and a playground for the kids.
